This course is a silent retreat which is only suited for participants with prior meditation experience. All instructions will be given in English.
The course starts on Saturday evening, 26th December 2020, at 7:00 p.m. and concludes on Saturday, 2nd January 2021, before lunch. We ask that participants arrive between 5 and 6 p.m on Saturday.
About the nature and structure of the course
By spending this time together in a shared space of reflective silence and meditation, we will try to develop increasing awareness and inner steadiness as well as our reflective skills.
The goal is to come to understand our own inner reality so precisely that both a view into the suffering-creating aspects of our experience, as well as into the rather limitless, unconditional dimensions of our consciousness may arise.
The inner space experienced within the calm of the mind supports the maturation of our innate qualities of friendliness, compassion and serenity and allow joy to expand in our hearts.
Meditative awareness is cultivated in all postures and a careful form of relaxed attention is also encouraged in activities outside the meditation hall. For example participants will share responsibilities for some practical tasks like house cleaning, cooking and washing dishes.
