Weekend courses: general information
The weekend normally starts on Friday evening at 6.15 pm.
To have enough time to orient yourself before the retreat begins we recommend that participants arrive at the monastery between 5pm and 6pm.
During the weekend we expect a full commitment to the monastic Eight Precepts.
In order to book a place on a retreat, it is necessary to register via telephone or e-mail (see contact page).
The earliest date that introductory weekends can be booked is generally five to six months in advance.
As courses are often fully booked, we kindly ask you to only register if you are sure to participate for the whole weekend. We would also appreciate an early cancellation, if valid reasons make it impossible to attend the retreat.
For the overnight stay at the monastery you will need to bring a full set of bedding (bed sheet, duvet cover and pillow case) – no sleeping bags please.
Cost: According to Buddhist tradition the teachings (Dhamma) are priceless and consequently have no price tag. Being based on this tradition the monastery is entirely supported by donations and therefore does not charge fixed course fees.
However a food donation at the beginning and a monetary donation at the end of the retreat will be gratefully received.
