These days, with the Covid-19 lockdown, we get to see many images of animals boldly exploring territory that usually to them is dubiously overpopulated with dangerous two legged creatures. The photos accompanying this blog however show the extraordinary example of an audacious squirrel raiding a terrace in search of educational material for its young, not even deterred by the presence of its rightful owners. Our friend Berti Buffy sent us these pictures of the four footed Odenwald inhabitant obviously intent on giving its young an early Buddhist education. It did eventually succeed to pilfer the whole several meter length of Tibetan prayer flags, which we can only assume will serve its kids as bedding. It remains to be seen if it will also have an effect on their future behaviour. In any case we thought this a lovely story to share with our Vesakh greetings.
In case you are equally keen on Dhamma we have now also uploaded some recordings from the New Year‘s Retreat 2018/19 with Ajahn Abhinando (in German). You can find them in the audio section.
And if you are interested in poetry you might like to visit dhammamoon.org, a website for contemplative poetry Ajahn Abhinando edits together with Ajahn Sucitto.
With all good wishes for Vesakh from the community at Dhammapala!
